It's unreal the difference.
Gives me such mixed feelings. So happy that they look like they're on the right track now, but on the other hand they wasted like 5 seasons of this core and traded their highest ever draft pick for pennies on the dollar.

Sutter mentioned after the win vs NYR that the first couple things he noticed when he arrived to coach the team was their lack of fitness and the lack of quickness in their play. 100% correct. Not only do I NOT object to Sutter pointing out those deficiences from the coaches before him, I would not object if he displayed a PowerPoint with Gulutzan, Peters and Ward's mugs and shone a laser pointer over each of them and called them out by their first names and say how much they sucked at their job in Calgary.
Blows my mind that the team went from such a high fitness level and fast pace that Hartley had them playing, only to descend near the bottom of the league in those areas immediately after GG was hired. In what realm is that acceptable for an NHL team? What was upper managements thoughts on that? Surely they must have noticed. Disgraceful those are things that took so long to correct and that correcting them is paying dividends immediately.
Glad Sutter made mention of those factors, and glad he's worked immediately at rectifying them.
