Gallant being a new hire this year is going to be in tough to get them to buy in quickly enough to remain competitive.
However, I do like the coaching. How can we not? Sutter was the best coach we ever had even though crisper won the big one. That team was way more stacked than Darryls team. .
He had our rag tag grinder group with an elite pwf, an elite shutdown defender and a generational goalie. We were a francoise beauchemin ko over iggy from going deeper into those playoffs with a hungrier group in 2006. That lock out really screwed the flames the worst. No salary cap, high oil prices, and that squad. We could’ve been a powerhouse… Alas back to it… Sutter is a great coach. When he went upstairs is where it started going wrong.
Yet by a shrewd move, the ownership group hired sutter again. The effect is real. The chemistry is building. If they can beat some of these alleged superior squads then we might have something.
In the end, I’m actually grateful for this start. I was super excited watching a game last night with my friend. This has been entertaining so far.
I’m still worried about our offence behind the top line yet I stick to my under two hundred but some bad hockey is going to have to precede that reality. It would have to take some real catastrophe from what the flames are looking like right meow.
Still like this crow taste. Happy to eat a slice of humble pie served with tonight’s affair!
