On the trade front Treliving hasn’t executed anything of note since 2018.

On the flip side, Vegas pulls off these trades seemingly every year. I imagine Vegas pulls this off because they have the history of doing moves like this, and Treliving just doesn’t. So far in his GM career Treliving has shown he just isn’t capable of improving the team in-season.

As far as what Frank actually said, I’d lend it about as much credibility as Friedman’s recent comments. Hopefully this all comes to an end soon.
A lot of in-season trades - not counting the deadline - involve players who are unhappy or want to leave their teams to specifically join another team. Calgary, and most of Canada for that matter, just isn't a huge destination for these types of players.

When was the last time a player like Eichel with term, was just up for grabs like this? Doesn't happen very often. How many times has that even happened in Treliving's tenure?

Also, with the way this team is rounding into form, is it worth upsetting the chemistry and trading a way a piece like Mangiapane? What if acquiring Eichel means that Gaudreau and Tkachuk walk.

I want Eichel too, but I'm also at the point where if the price is Mangiapane, I have serious reservations the Flames being in on this.
