William Karlsson - $5.9M
Alec Martinez - $5.25M
Shea Theodore - $5.2M
Robin Lehner - $5M
Jonathan Marchesault - $5M
Evengo Dadonov - $5M
Alex Tuch - $4.75M

That's $62.2M. Add in Eichel and that becomes $72.2M on 11 players. They have anther 7.675 committed to another four payers. That's $80M on 15 players. Then they have seven players coming up to RFA contracts. This is not doable would the Sabres taking on a BIG salary, and those salaries all have NTC clauses. I don't know how they can make this work, even if Eichel's contract is off the books for the whole year. There would have to be some serious shenanigans going on for this to magically work out.
Pacioretty is on LTIR and only has a year left after this year.
Stone might be heading to LTIR.

Next year, Vegas would lose Smith and Janmark, big whoop.

None of the forwards that are playing are even making $6 mill.
On defense, only Pietrangelo makes more than 5.250 mill.

Theodore, Marchessault, Karlsson and Lehner all have great contracts.

If anything, they're in a better cap situation than the Flames, who will still be paying guys like Coleman and Markstrom in many many years. Tkachuk can become a UFA in a year. Gaudreau at the end of this season. Monahan is overpaid, Backlund makes more than almost all of Vegas's forwards that are playing.
