The old boys club. It sounds like nepotism was involved in the hiring. Aldrich's father, who worked for the San Jose Sharks, got his son a recommendation with the Blackhawks through the connection with Dave Tallon, and the Hawks hired him that day. All those personal connections probably made it that much more inhibitive to be professional about what was going on.
