In a perfect world in an Eichel trade, I'd like to see centre in, centre out. Then make up the difference with futures. The Flames don't have a ton of winger depth or D depth to add multiple roster players.
Monahan for salary out. Plus Buffalo's choice of prospect, plus multiple draft picks. I don't care how many and how high the picks are. If you're making a trade for Eichel, you're trying to win in the next 3 years. That's many moons before any 1st rounder in the next couple years is going to be a blip on the radar. Plus, after you try to win, you're probably going to be bad for awhile.
I don't like the idea of pilliaging the roster or the prospect base for Eichel. Valimaki, Kylington, Pelletier, Zary ,Coronato a few on those guys making impacts on entry-level contracts will be important in the near future.
