I feel like the effect of team size is tough to appreciate unless the game is getting intense.
Opposing players less likely to lunge at pucks along the boards, more likely to get rid of pucks quicker. Doesn’t necessarily need to just be the nuclear deterrent to keep Tom Wilson in check. It’s probably a difference that’s felt on the ice but not as easily noticed in the stands. Sure affects me in games when I’m on the ice with 4 big guys.
