Years ago I was wireline logging a well up near FSJ. Our first run was flawless, picked up the 2nd tool, ran in the hole and hit a bridge. That's not unusual but the rig couldn't ream through it and had to ream the entire hole all the way to bottom, about a thousand metres. Turns out there was an small earthquake right in between tool runs and it apparently shifted the lower formations enough that the well had to essentially be redrilled. |
Heh, at least it didn't happen while you were in hole and had to go fishing. I use to OH wireline too and my best ticket was fishing for Shell over Christmas. Double bubble on a fishing well was massive for the bank account.
