I've read before that some geologists say there is a 30% chance that a catastrophic one will happen in the next 50 years, but almost certainly within the next 100 years. It could be tomorrow though, when trying to calculate things on a geologic timeline, a few decades is trying to be unreasonably precise. I work in emergency response and emergency management in BC, and I know there has been more emphasis lately put on earthquake preparedness.
The last "big one" hit about 270 years ago, and they tend to hit with regular intervals every 250-350 years. There is evidence of a tsunami going as far inland as Pitt Meadows. It followed topography though, so obviously not everywhere between there and the ocean was submerged.
