Overly Academic can be akin to 'Divorced from Actual Society.'
Frankly, when I graduated and started working it really taught me about how little University Professors actually know.
"If you were any good at this....you wouldnt be here."

Frankly I had that thought when I was 18 and started University.
Then I matured and realized how childish a gross oversimplification like that actually is.
It took a few years, but I began to appreciate the bottomless and changing facets of knowledge (in any topic) along with how challenging it is for any one person to teach these topics in an environment where reality is constantly in flux.
At the end of the day knowledge only has value when it is used to do something positive.
There is nothing wrong with being overly academic as long its mechanisms enable, admit, and learn from mistakes without rigid ideology.
Yeah ego and personal agendas can be toxic to these objectives, but is this really any different from any other sector of society?
Divorced from realty is Kenney and his social conservative collection of clowns.
