I think you probably right about this. It's not as close as I thought it was at first glance. I still don't think Markstrom plays it correctly, his angles are wrong.
Philosophically, I think goalies don't use that move nearly enough, especially on cross-crease plays.
The 2-pad stack seals off the bottom 24"+ across a minimum of six and a half feet, depending on how you position your arms.
It makes so much more sense than turning yourself into a human fire blast.
