I think we are kind of going on about different political sides but I don't know if that is addressing some of the issues. The current council has been talking about a whole host of issues and getting things resolved, on both sides. I don't know how successful they have been.
How many times have we pushed the can down the road on the downtown core and the tax issue? Something is going to give on that issue and it won't be the trying to get half pregnant.
Empty towers, promises of a huge swath of people living downtown to create life, massive tax increases on surrounding businesses and hoping for an oil rebound to create another 50k downtown jobs won't happen.
Like I said before who in Canada and Alberta has really addressed the issues with that? Has the UCP done anything? Has Nenshi and the current council? Have the feds generated tens of thousands of green jobs for us here in Calgary? What is happening there?
We may have a new mayor and many new council members but let's not pretend that these are easy issues to address. Positive campaigns be dammed, things are going to have to get real in Calgary and quick
