As an aside, bringing this back around to Star Trek discussion, I read somewhere that Roddenberry's original character outline for Deanna Troi included her having three or four breasts. Also, Deanna Troi was a traditional blonde beauty like the girls that would show up in the 60's show. Denise Crosby originally auditioned for the proto Deanna Troi character.
Tasha Yar was supposed to be Tanya Hernandez because Roddenberry or Berman or someone saw Aliens and took a liking to Vasquez. The head of security was supposed to be in the vein of that tough hispanic female character and that's why the dark haired Marina Sirtis audioned for head of security.
Later on, someone decided to just swap the actresses completely.
