I recently switched to Rogers from telus and purchased an unlocked ericsson w810i and I am not looking back. I get better coverage in calgary and have not dropped a call since getting the phone. Telus i was dropping calls at least 4 times a week. I will never ever look back and recommend to all people to switch to rogers or fido, sim cards make the difference with the ability to keep your contacts and info on that so that when you do change phones its waaaaaaaaaay easier. TELUS sucks. but thats my $.02. And I used to think the other way before I switched.
