Seems like no matter when an elite player becomes available, the same handful of markets are involved and just come up with new, creative ways to cheat the system to ensure teams like the Flames are used simply as leverage. The mirage of parity is becoming ridiculous.

He runs his team like how I run mine in a video game. Always chasing the next upgrade, regardless of optics. I suppose it hasn't hurt them really yet. That Tartar was a truly terrible move, like one of the worst in the last 5-10 years. Even acquiring Lehner was just weird. Fleury was the face of the franchise and a top goalie who has done nothing but produce excellent results. Loved in the room and a fan favorite. Weird.
I guess I you get the opportunity to snag piertrangelo and stone you should. Even patches I guess. When it comes down to it, I think they are more lucky than anything. Reaped the benefits of a bunch of dumb GMs doing insanely stupid #### that became a cautionary tale for Seattle. They are really lucky Karlsson and Stephenson turned out to be solid players but honestly I think it's as much luck as skill as far as McPhee goes. On paper that's a terrible center situation but it's working for them, so gotta give them credit. Imagine if they just kept Suzuki? That was a huge blunder.
It's not smoke and mirrors, they are good but they were gifted players like Theodore because the other guy was a moron. Traded Theodore to protect Manson and vatanen? Jesus christ.
