And because it was never properly dealt with you get accusations being thrown around by players which further distracts from the game being played. Tepera outwardly in his press conference and then some Rays players beating around the bush about it.
It's sad because Manfred dug this hole but doesn't care because he'll still get his cash cows in the playoffs which draw eyeballs. The Sox-Yanks wildcard game drew 7.7 million viewers for ESPN. The most watched baseball game since the last time the Yanks played the Sox in the playoffs.
