The proposed deal here makes sense for the Flames and maybe for Buffalo, even if they just flip Monahan. But for Monahan? It seems like the worst career move at this point for him to go to that dumpster fire team. He's soon to UFA and needs to maximize his value and going to Buffalo is the opposite. Who would he even play with? They just traded away Reinhart too. I just can't think of a single good reason for him to waive there so not holding my breath.
