Think the holdup is Brisson trying to reason for a few more or better assets in the package. But whatever happens with this trade, he needs to have a good relationship with Adams now and for future negotiations - and from all accounts, so far it is. So he has to go to bat and try to get the best package possible (which I still think is the Flames unless Anaheim go nuts and cough up both of Zegras/Drysdale).

Adams has to do a difficult dance here because now that Eichel aligned with Brisson, Adams has to be sure to keep a long-term focus about his relationship with the agent. And not just for any potential free-agent deals with Brisson clients.
The big reason? Brisson serves as the "adviser" for Michigan defenseman Owen Power, the Sabres' No. 1 overall draft pick from July (NCAA players, remember, can't officially have agents). Someday later in this decade, Power might be in the spot where Rasmus Dahlin was this summer, with Brisson negotiating his client's first deal off his entry-level contract.

But this is getting put on a timer now. Adams can be stubborn as he wants but the docs are right, you can't let a pinched nerve in the spine sit like that for too long or you're looking at long term health ramifications, he needs to get this done soon so that the surgery can happen. The pain has been described by Chris Weidman as "someone taking a screwdriver and pushing it into my spinal cord". I imagine even with painkillers life must be miserable for Jack as well, especially if his agent is saying he needs this done "yesterday morning".
Calgary has a few days of practice before their season actually kicks off, so this gives time for Treliving to get something finalized. I'd like to think Eichel's a Flame by the end of the week.
