Everyone has always been like “if only we had #1C” for DECADES, well now we have a chance to get one and everyone is scared to give up prospects and future picks/draft capital lol. Eichel will get his surgery, Eichel will heal, and Eichel will come back to an even better team and absolutely dominate.

Treliving NEEDS to make this trade happen ASAP. Opportunities like this DON’T come along often. Think of it this way, say the worst happens and it doesn’t work out, Flames at least took a CHANCE, something they have never done with an elite player like this, in order to get us out of complete mediocracy, and if it doesn’t work out, we’re back in the same mediocracy we’ve always been in, and would have been in had we not taken the chance on Eichel in the first place. Essentially, getting Eichel is a chance at actually getting a cup with this core, without him we won’t, not with the team we have now. So in my opinion, it’s a chance we need to take, and if we don’t OR if it doesn’t work out, it’s the same mediocracy as always.

Great, but what's the max price you'd pay given Eichel's current risk situation? Surely that needs to be taken into account.

Personally, I'm in favour of including any of the combination of their existing prospects + Monahan + a conditional 1st. But multiple 1sts? No chance as this team needs to build through the draft.
