Anyway, I liked his story telling, and he's definitely the best comedian out there because of how natural he is. But this lacked those laugh out loud moments mostly, and was easily his worst from the specials.

As for his logic, what I think he was getting at is lost on most -- if you can laugh at yourself and things in general, you won't be going to the easy road of cancel culture over small things that hurt your feelings. He used his friend as an example who paid the ultimate price. I can understand why the alphabet community is angry at him as are others, because they were the butt end of it, but his style is pointing out sillyness through racial and marginalized examples and at the end I don't think he means things literally. It's a creative way of storytelling and talking about touchy principles.
A major roadblock in any kind of rhetoric with Trans issues is the fundamental misunderstanding surrounding not only the separation of sex and gender, but also the fluidity and interconnectedness between the two.

Dave was certainly guilty of this in the special. The quote "Gender is a fact" is problematic. It's true, but not in the way Dave meant it. He's referring to biology.

The LGBTQ community is also guilty of this. Throwing around the term TERF in order to completely disregard a person and their viewpoints is dangerous, much in the same way "racist" is thrown around too casually.

There's a dialogue that can happen around all of this, and my impression from the special is that Chappelle is inviting people to really think about this and join the conversation. Even now we don't seem to be able to do this as honestly as I think we need to.
