What about teams like Chicago? the hope in NY for the Rangers? The Florida Panthers. All these teams have finished at or near dead last and have been able to build or are building good teams that are or will compete.

You’d have said the same thing about Calgary around the Bennett and Tkachuk draft. And everything was looking pretty good in mid 2018-19. People said Minnesota was going to be good, and now they are pretty mediocre. Columbus was on the rise and took a huge step back. And look north where they are perennially described as a talented up and coming team.
