I agree that if a player is hacked or tripped, the refs should call a penalty. That being said, it's aggravating to hear the player whine about it after, when the penalty was called.
You drew the penalty, your team scored; move on.
If that play is drawing a penalty most times, why complain? If the defenseman doesn't challenge on that play, they're not going to be an NHL player for long, so you're never going to get the right of way. Ultimately, all the whining may be the reason he doesn't draw as many penalties as he thinks he should.
