Bennett wasn't on the roster at the end of the season so I don't think its really relevant to the discussion if the Flames improved over the summer or not.

I agree that the new guys are meh, and think that’s a net loss on ice. Gio is a Norris caliber D and Ryan was excellent for his position, and imo underutilized due to slotting. They played frigging Ritchie top 6. A bewildering wtf situation. The main win is that Coleman is slotted based on a positional need, which has been a glaring organizational weakness
And, oh yeah, the little issue of the coaching staff. And I am fully aware he is the guy that played Ritchie with 13 and 23, but who knows what that was about - maybe a kamikaze style message about roster construction ?
