We're past the point of ultimatums. The Flames no longer have any control in this negotiation, so making an ultimatum will only drive the parties further apart and give Gaudreau's camp more incentive to look elsewhere. The only thing the Flames have to offer now is an 8th year, and I'm not sure Treliving has the green light to make that commitment.
