Gio with a partner like Tanev or Brodie that he can trust is a beast
Tanev is rock solid and makes his partner better
They kind of play different roles, but slotted optimally, Gio can get to a level Tanev can’t. That’s my view

I'm a Gio fan ... so don't have a problem with that view at all.
But Gio had a rough season with anyone but Tanev.
