Nope. The Flames are rice paper thin when it comes to prospects. I honestly don't know how people can't see this? Maybe its the constant pumping of tires from the likes of Scorpion, but this is a system with very few players with NHL potential. I would say we are limited to four or five players total that you can look at and say, yes, in the next three years they will be NHL players. Most teams are way beyond that number. The Flames are a team that doesn't have a single bluechip prospect, which really hurts when you consider the complete lack of success this team has had.

Only 3-4 teams would have much left if they pulled that trigger.

Disagree. Almost every team could pull the trigger and still have a much better system than the Flames. Yes, it would hurt, but most teams would recover a lot quicker than the Flames because they have the foundation of higher picks from past drafts to rely upon.

The need to pile on more misery on this site astounds me.

What is this piling on misery bull####? It's just the reality this team faces. The current roster is not good, and the clock is ticking down on it. The minor league team is bereft of players ready for the NHL. The junior aged guys still have a long way to go, so no immediate help there either. This is a team that is not well constructed, not likeable in any way, and doesn't have that hope factor to play. It is what it is, and it isn't good. Better to be honest and set reasonable expectations IMO.
