Avid book reader here. My two big question on adapting Foundation were how to handle the time scale, and how they were stretching out an entire season from the first half of the first book that is mostly a description of events and political problem solving. The answer to the first looks to like cloning, stasis, and robots to keep character continuity and the answer to the second looks like adding in more character development and personal relationships with a bit taken from the prequels.
Definitely a lot of changes from the books especially that ending to Episode 2. I am getting an idea of how this all fits together though and expect a last season reveal will make everything clear and line up more closely with the book.
Keen to see this play out. The effects, music, and set design are all top notch and will cover up any story cracks for now.
