Winners in this debate:


Davison - great rebuttal and clarification on the events center financial matters. Very pro downtown revitalization. Took a gigantic crunch on Farkas by saying he actually gets projects accomplished, not just saying no to everything.

Hartley - strong speaker, had solutions for every issue proposed in questions directed for him. He's very young though, he probably should have tried running for a council position first. Great response on oil and gas building this city, but won't be building its future. Wants tech investment.

Damery - very positive attitude, she is also pro downtown revitalization. Seems level headed for someone I thought would have been too far left for my vote.



Losers:

Wang - Completely whiffed his questions, really seems to have little to offer this city. Cuts cuts cuts. "We can't afford that, I'm a geologist". Biggest loser tonight and truthfully doesn't belong on the stage anymore than Paul Hallelujah.

Field - He gives me the impression he would like to run the city like some sort of cutthroat American corporation. Used a loose "I know a guy on the inside" of the Calgary events center negotiations that provided little value. Kenny lite.

Gondek - Shes very hostile to the UCP government which needs to be at least an amicable relationship. Every question of hers plays on the UCP much like a Trudeau comment dumping on Harper. Her frustration is 100% warranted mind you, but I don't see her being an effective mayor when you sour the relationship with a huge revenue stream.

Ogbonna - Confusing tax idea which he touts as "10% for all residential and businesses". 10% of what? The value of my house? What the hell does that mean?

Novak - Just a boatload of meh. Hes not the biggest loser here, but there's little he says that inspires me.

Farkas - didn't seem to gain or lose any traction, he's the same boob he's always been.

I was bored of watching the whole debate but that's my impression from the first 6 questions.
