If you give Mony the chance to try to centre his own line he could run with it. With Coleman and Bread they might really be able to establish something as a trio where maybe Monahan advances his game a little.
Don't like this going back to an old well that never paid off for them in 6 years.
I absolutely believe you could have two great lines with them apart.
Tkachuk with Gaudreau brought out the best in both those guys and it was obvious.
There is really no reason to go back.

Monahan had a good start last season because he was making good passes and setting up Gaudreau. He'll never be the dangling, fancy passing centre that some people covet. But he can be an effective playmaker. He just has to avoid deferring to Gaudreau all the time.
That said, I would have liked to see a Mangiapane-Monahan-Coleman line. I think it could be very effective.
