Hardly a wannabe team either. They had a long period of contender status and 100+ point seasons before they finally broke through.

They were a tough team to play under Hitchcock, but they had quite a few first round losses (which are frowned upon here). And the year before they weren’t good.
I’d say LA in their first cup. A team that had missed or been bounced in round one every year since 1993 wins the whole thing in 2012. A couple good regular seasons but mostly terribad teams as well.
