Which makes no sense from a Calgary standpoint because those roads will have no use besides when an event is going on. No one will use them.
Why not expand the plaza aspect, even enclose it with businesses on the other side, and prioritize foot traffic.
If there's something I've taken away from the pandemic that is positive, it's that downtown banff and canmore got way better when they made their main drags pedestrian areas and no longer had traffic run through them. They need to employ the same approach with this arena.
It gives it much more of a meet and greet vibe when you have an open area without cars whizzing past you and traffic noise dominating.

I don't disagree, but a lack of parking is always a complaint about Calgary commenters on arena plans (I don't agree but there it is).
