Chara I would take next season in a heart beat too - he can be effective off the 3rd pairing, 2nd PP with his bomb, and probably is the toughest guy in the league still. Plus, he is smart enough that he can make up for his lack of footspeed. I bet he does well-enough on the Islanders this year, and that he can squeeze-out another year or two after this. He - like Jagr - is also one of those fitness freaks.
Jagr admitted he didn’t stay in shape that summer. His excuse was he didn’t know if anyone was going to sign him at all.
