I still don't really enjoy that film and it feels like its not in the same universe as its successor. It has some great one-liners and Cameron writing but I just don't feel that movie at all while many people seem to hold it in such high esteem. Of course I understand all the budget and filming limitations behind it and Cameron's rise and inventiveness is always a great story in an of itself.

Def agree to a point, but to me what makes the first one amazing is that the 2nd one is THAT much better after seeing them in order. T2 is amazing on it's own but there's another level when you know the backstory of Reese, and why Sarah was terrified of Arnold at first.
I saw the 2nd one first but I wish I did see them in order
But in defense of the first one, best description I've read was that it was epic on a whole 'nother level, until T2 came and redefined what epic was
