I know money talks, but I wish it was more like the UK with short series runs.
After 4 or 5 years, there usually is nothing else for a show to say. especially comedies.

Homer was the same way on the Simpsons. He was dumb in a smart way in the early seasons before they started relying on the complete bubbling idiot character that he became because it was easier to write cheap laughs for.
