One thing's for sure, Treliving teams will never be short on replacement level players! Just an absolutely crucial part of icing a solid NHL team.
Want to make a deal at the deadline? Well forget about that wiggle room you had to take on some salary. We were totally in on that one guy, but we inked Gudbrandson and Richardson last fall and said trade partner won't retain so shucks, too bad.
This organization loves handcuffing itself for literally no reason at all. All in the name of getting that coveted 8th seed.
Keeping that dream of mediocrity alive.
Meanwhile a team like Ottawa hacks the whole thing to the ground, didn't care about vet depth, gave reigns to their prospects and were still trending to be as good or better than us despite not addressing depth positions by throwing money at dumbass nothing signings like our last couple (Stone is an exception).
Maybe try something different for once. If the club had any kind of read on the pulse of its fanbase it would see that fans here would welcome Philips, Ruzicka and Pellitier getting NHL time. Much more than some hard hitting neanderthals no one else would sign.
Just another year where this washed up ex-coyotes management continues to define insanity by doing what its always done to get underwhelming results trying to resurrect 2003 and bore a western conference fanbase to death in its seats.

When has a depth signing ever prohibited the Flames from making an acquisition at the deadline? When has this been an issue for any team at the deadline?
You do realize Ottawa had Gudbranson on their team last year right? And literally got a draft pick for him at the deadline (with double the cap hit he has now).
Pitlick, Richardson, Coleman, and Lewis aren’t “Neanderthals that hit hard”. All you’re doing is showing your lack of understanding of the type of players they are.
Also, NHL teams don’t make personnel decision based off “the pulse of the fan base”. Thinking that any team should operate that way is just silly.
Pelletier hasn’t even played a pro game yet and Ruzcika and Phillips have yet to hit PPG in the AHL. Dube and Mangiapane were performing at a much higher level before getting a permanent call up.
And like it or not, there is no spot on a Darryl Sutter 4th line for Matthew Phillips.
Lots of reasons to dislike Gudbranson the player, but you’re concerns aren’t really concerns at all. Savage rant is more of a random cry about nothing.
