It's harder to acquire these actual impact players than people think. Once again there are teams doing desperate things like acquiring 38 year old Duncan Keith.
Coleman was likely the biggest fish out there that the Flames could get. The only other UFA that was clearly a bigger deal was Dougie Hamilton, and he's not coming back here.
Not a huge fan of Gudbranson, but it's a one year deal. Without Gaudreau re-signed, the plan may be to blow it up, and this signing doesn't interfere with that, so I'm good.
