Agreed. My impression of him is that he knows there’s a segment of the population that wants simply to pay lower taxes so that’s the position he tries to take regardless of the circumstance (claiming he’s merely “listening to his constituents”). If it was so easy to slash taxes and spending without reducing services that citizens need and expect, someone smarter than him would have done so already.

My opinion is that in order to be a good mayor, you need to have a vision for building the city and to be able to get stuff done. I don’t think Farkas has really done anything (other than vote against a bunch of things), especially when it comes to rebuilding the downtown amidst the O+G recession.

The worst is when he paints himself as the poor victim... not only to garner sympathy, but to show he’s still fighting for the taxpayer. Hey, when the vote is 14-1 and you’re constantly the “one”, it’s not because you’re right and everyone else is wrong.

PS in 2018 YYCCC approved 14 new communities in the suburbs. According to this article, the vote was 14-2 with Nesnhi and Farrell against, and Jones absent: https://www.thestar.com/amp/calgary/...an-growth.html Im not sure if that’s what bizaro was asking but if so, Farkas voted yes.
