Most goalies spend a couple of years in the AHL for sure. But it's a pretty short list that spend 5 years or more and develop into good NHL goalies. There are some for sure. Binnington for example.

But I can't find any that struggled like Parsons has, for as long as he has, and went on to be a good NHL goalie. There might be some out there, but I can't think of any.

I want the guy to be successful and I hope he is. But he has hit double digit games on the AHL once in 4 seasons, and his numbers are pretty awful.

Given the number of goalies in the system, his past play, and this being the final year of his contract you have to think the odds are long for him to be a Flames goalie. The safe money is on him getting moved in a prospect for prospect swap before season start.
