All it takes are 2 contenders to start a bidding war for him and the price would go up again. I wouldn’t worry about his trade value at all. Moving high priced players on long term deals is the real challenge.
If Treliving thinks that Gaudreau takes this team to a Cup eventually, then he has to re-sign him. If not, then re-signing him would not be a great move. I’m personally on the fence with Gaudreau. I don’t know if he is or isn’t the guy.
