Just watched "The Long Kiss Goodnight", and wow, it's actually a pretty wild, weird and messed up film. In fascinating way more than good, but also fairly entertaining. The nineties were a different time for sure. I would totally watch a sequel.
As for the LOTR films, they're fine otherwise but the battle of Helms deep especially makes my head hurt really bad. You can really tell that no one who wrote it / planned it had any idea at all about actual medieval battles, unlike Tolkien.
In general that's the one thing I dislike the most about the films, how they made all the main military leaders basically just boastful with no real plans, ever. Then again, pre-firearm battles in Hollywood movies are stupid and bad roughly 100% of the time, so Jackson isn't exactly alone in this. At least the speeches are good, and charge of Rohirrim does kind of rule.
