Look I love leaning into analytics, I love fancy stats and trying to understand them more and more and I do think there is a legitimate place for them but at the same time to write off Monahan as 3rd line fodder who will be lucky to score 20 goals based on those charts again is a laughable conclusion to me.

I can definitely agree with the right situation part. Unfortunately, I’m not sure that the right situation for a 60pt Monahan is the right/best situation for the team as a whole. That said, I’m sure Monahan would take on any role his coaches give him if it helps the team win. I just hope he has an injury free season.
