I don't see teams wanting to go higher at this point as Eichel is almost certainly going to miss a portion of the regular season and may not be 100% at all next season depending on which medical opinions you want to side with.
Buffalo put themselves in a position now where they either back track on the offers they already received and see if they are still on the table, or accept less than they were already offered, which IMO, would put management on the hot seat for making such an error.
The other option of course is riding it out until December or so, when teams have a better idea of where they stand and new offers looking towards 2022-2023 start coming in, which might reset the bar for Buffalo.
If I was a betting person, I would think Buffalo is going to hold tight and try to reset the value in a few months. Just a guess.

I am getting the idea that is the plan, since there are now rumors the procedure will happen. I think it became pretty clear that Buffalo set the price way too high, and no one was willing to play ball. I imagine that NYI finally dropping the details of their signings is a sign that the last few deals to be made will begin to happen.
It's certainly a risk for Buffalo, if there are issues with the surgery or recovery, almost any offer made will be worth more than what they have. And even if not, if a team can't swing a deal mid season (when you cannot exceed cap, and will also have a better idea of where you will be picking in the draft) then they will have to contend with the NMC of a very expensive, very disgruntled player. And if you are a team who knows that you are the ONLY team Jack is willing to go to, your prices just went way down, or you will be able to dump just awful cap hits the other way.
