I'm torn as to what they should do here. This is on Bergevin for dragging his ass signing the kid. Should have been priority #1 as soon as Danault left. If they don't match they have Nick Suzuki and then a bag of pucks as their other centremen. He isn't worth anywhere close to $6 million, but I was looking forward to seeing what he could do next season with a lot more ice time.

I don’t know, what about that Habs roster screams Stanley Cup contender? The advanced stats? The personnel? I think of all the teams to make it to the finals over the past decade or so they are the main team that jumps out as “got hot at the right time”.
They barely made the playoffs, Leafs lost Tavares, Jets lost Schiefele, etc. No shame in admitting they got hot at the right time and had some good fortune. Still a great run.
Nobody had the Habs as a contender last year and for good reason.
