My Doug Flutie story — when I was in junior high and the Grey Cup was in Calgary in 1993, my buddy and I went down to the Stampede Grounds where they were holding the Grey Cup festival (it was indoors, I think at the old Round Up Centre). There weren’t that many people for some reason, so we each took multiple turns at the passing station trying to throw footballs into a a couple of targets about 10-15 yards away. We probably threw 10 balls each and maybe got one or two into the closer target. Doug shows up in his street clothes and proceeds to go two for two at the far target without missing a beat.

First time seeing a pro QB up close — and yeah, he was pretty good.
