I’ve had the same thought. Would not surprise me if Treliving has made an offer that includes Zary/Coronato, a 2022 1st round pick (top 5 protected) and a player like Monahan… that’s the equivalent of 3 first round picks IMO… just shy of the four first round pick equivalents they are asking for. If teams like Anaheim and NY are not willing to give up their top young players, that package is as competitive as any other.
Monahan could easily be worth a first round pick at the TDL if he is 100% healthy this year. Buffalo could trade him then to get the futures-based package they want. They have to hit the cap floor somehow.
