Point is the Eichel saga has taken so long all of the plan B's that were available have been done with other teams.
Flames are left with going into the season with the same core as last year and the year before that. A core with character issues who have already proven they are not good enough to get anything real accomplished.

the last thing I want to do is see this team trade MORE futures to muddle along. Unless it is for a significant upgrade like Eichel.
The Buch deal did seem like good value. I'll admit that.
Otherwise though I was hoping more for a hockey deal to change the makeup of the forward group.
