Very little.
He will be on the roster. That does not mean he will be around the other players however.

Adams own words

Quote:
"We're in control of this process. We have a player under contract. We don't feel any pressure," he said. "If there's a deal out there that we feel is going to help us improve right away or down the road, we'd be open to it. But we're not going to do something to do it. That doesn't make any sense."

Adams has gone so far as to say that the Eichel drama could extend into the preseason. "I would have no problem at all if Jack Eichel is on our team when we start training camp," he said.

Unless i missed something, he is not able to play at this point. That won't change until an agreed upon surgery/treatment occurs with whomever that might be.

All the leverage between the team and the player belongs to the team at this point. That's not debatable. Which is why they can wait as long as they wish to move him. All it costs them is money once the season starts because, and again, they aren't making any deal that would improve them for this season. Futures will still be futures 8 months from now.

And where did i say any other team was under pressure to trade for him?

Not sure how that could even occur.

Again, its a bold strategy but its pretty clear thats the one they have chosen, rightly or wrongly.

Maybe an early season ending injury occurs to a main piece on a SC contender and things change....which would then play into the Sabres wishes.

This thing will not be resolved soon unless someone blinks and pays their price though.
