I don't think trading for Eichel is something you do with this season front of mind. Thats a longer term move where you are looking at that opportunity to compete in the coming 5 years. Brad is always talking about things making sense long term so I don't think his being out 60-80% of the next season is an issue with a guy that changes your team and comes with term.
It's really impossible to say until he's actually moved and we know the verdict.
Don't think the Flames will ever be completely out of it, but hard to imagine them ponying up a big bid this late in the game. I feel as if they aren't the most eager of the interested teams. I'm sure they'll put in their offer when Buffalo is ready to make a decision. We'll see how it shakes out.
