League wide my most educated guess is that Eichel is holding up a lot of things.
Unless there is some spite in there somewhere, I can't believe it has taken this long for a trade. It makes no sense. If Adams is going for the Duchesne patience and overpay, he seems to be forgetting that Eichel requires surgery and won't play until he has it. At least with Duchesne, Sakic could just sit on it, expect Duchesne to be a professional and report to camp.
Here you have a player whose value to an acquiring team must be dropping daily.
It just seems stupid to me.
Unless there are some behind the scenes, soft and hard deadlines we aren't aware of.
Just get on with it already.
