Back on topic, it seems clear that no GM is willing to pay what Buffalo is demanding. The longer this drags on, the less Buffalo will get, considering how each day increases the amount of time Eichel will miss and brings his NMC closer to being a factor. And then there's all of next season's marketing, what to do when the face of the franchise may or may not be a part of the team going forward? And as next season approaches, more and more teams will move on to plan B if they sense that this stalemate won't be broken, so Buffalo risks losing the best offers currently available.
The Sabres would do well to temper their expectations a bit, because they won't get more by waiting longer.
